A vaccination appointment is really a health check with a needle at the end. We examine your pet properly every time, because the yearly booster is often the only time a healthy pet sees a vet.
Puppies and kittens
Puppies have their first vaccination at eight weeks and the second at twelve. Kittens start at nine weeks and finish at twelve. Each visit includes a full health check, worming advice and time to talk about food, training, insurance and neutering. Puppies can go out on walks one week after the second jab.
Not sure what your pet needs next? The health planner lays out the next twelve months for your pet’s species and age.
Boosters
Dogs and cats need a booster every year. Not every part of the vaccine is given every year; we follow the current guidance for each disease, so your pet gets what it needs and no more.
Rabbits
One combined vaccine a year protects rabbits against the two viral diseases that kill most unvaccinated rabbits. It can be given from seven weeks old. Guinea pigs and other small pets are not vaccinated, but we recommend the same yearly check.
Kennel cough
Given as drops up the nose rather than an injection. Book it at least a week before kennels or day care.
